Cork City Samba Band is a percussion group formed in 2012 and has 20 members.
We play a variety of samba rhythms like samba reggae, maracatu and bai aõ, as well as drum & bass, funk and
house (the deeper the better!).
We regularly play indoor and outdoor events around Cork City and we really love busking on the streets.
One of the highlights of the last few years was travelling to Liverpool to play at
Brazilica Festival
and we had a great time gigging and busking in Galway in September 2019 too.
Our practice room is in the city centre, but you'll often see us rehearsing outside on the boardwalk at Grand Parade, in the Lee Fields or at beaches like Garrestown/Garrylucas when the weather's good.
We post updates on social media if we are playing or practicing outdoors somewhere.
